Wi-fi problem

hi

I have wi-fi at my house and the iPhone is meant to connect to my home network without me clicking it but it doesn't do this and then when I go into the wifi tab in settings and then I click on the network to put in my password to connect it says 'unable to join network...'. So everytime I want to go on the Internet I have to click on 'other' in the wifi tab and then I put in the network name and the password and it will then connect. Does anyone know why its not connecting automatically.

What kind of wireless router do you have? I had this problem with a really old linksys router. Sometimes i would have to unplug and plugin the power on the router and i would be able to connect through the iphone. That got old real fast so I just bought a new router.

Also you may try to update firmware of your router.

I have a linksys router that is probably about a year old but the iphone has recently started to connect automatically so it looks like the iPhone has realized to connect to my router automatically.
