I dont know about the rest of the world, but in the 5 or so cell phones I've owned, I've never onced needed to replace the battery, I dont know what the big deal is with the non-removable battery. I'm sure someone will make a portable recharger in case your out and about and don't have access to a power plug... like in the jungle or other remote places people will be using the iPhone.

iPhone battery information: http://www.ipodbatteryfaq.com/#23 If it's less than 1500MaH I won't be buying an iPhone. Anyway, as it is now way underspecced for UK release much later this year, I probably won't be buying one anyway as it stands; as much as I love the concept. To be anywhere in the market here in the UK later this year it has to support UMTS and have at least a 3.2 Mp camera. Mind you, if Jobs is as clever as I think he is, I'm sure we'll see a very different version when the time comes. Just a final note on battery: IMHO there has never been a finer device for battery consumption than my 60Gb iPod Photo. |

I don't see the point of making the battery non-removable. Why not just make the battery removable and replaceable? Isn't it better to be safe than sorry? As the iPhone ages the phone's battery may weaken or break. That's just a fact. Apple can't ensure that it won't happen, so why make the battery non-replaceable?
