Yeah, I certainly did by getting my PSP first. Luckily (well, also crappily) it was delayed a number of months, so there was no real chance of getting a dud.

Right.... That's why I keep saying that let the first lot go, see the views of the users and then go and buy.
Also by the time you might get some good offers...

well.. actually.. you should keep this within you

why i tell this is -- if all start thinking like you then the first lot is not going to be sold and no feedbacks and you are going to be in a dilemma.

I agree; if the first batch out bombs, then most likely they will be re-evaluating their game plan and your release date will be postponed. I don't look at buying the first batch of the product as "being first to own it", I simply look at it as though I am buying rights to beta test a product..

I doubt that that would happen. A few of us being smart enough to wait and see customer reviews won't cause the iPhone to bomb. It's not like we are trying to convince all the people who want to buy the iPhone.

I couldn't buy the iPhone right away even if I wanted to, because I'm not rich enough.

The phoneis put through some tests in this video.

PC World - iPhone Stress Tests

He tries to scratch the glass with a key but can't.

Although I do believe he could have been a bit more tough with it to see how far it could go until it was damaged. I don't think he really wanted to destroy a good iphone though.
