Not to mention that over time you deplete the battery faster by not letting it die out completly before fully charging it again. Remember the cordless phone days and having to go to Radioshack to get a new battery due to the old one not holding it's chare very long? I do hope V.2 has an external battery so that an upgrade option is available.

I agree with all of you to be honest. 8 hours of talk time is quite a lot, and if you are going to be using the phone that much then you should not be using a "cool and trendy" phone, you should be using a Blackberry or something similar.

Here's the Specs... Apple - iPhone - Tech Specs 8 hours talk time is great because no one talks 8 hours in a day on the phone I hope. You have to take into account using all the other features in combination to the phone so you won't exactly get 8 hours. I would assume you'd have enough power to do quite a bit during the day and charge it by night as you sleep. |

| That's what works for me; I use it primarily as a phone and calendar, so sometimes I can go a day and a half, and then charge it on my desk at work during the day as needed.

Unless they are going to go nuclear power :D I don't think they'll be able to create batteries small enough to keep the phones small and get longer use out of them. They are at a perfect talk and use time level I'd say. | |

How long does it last on standby, though? I don't talk on my phone huge amounts, but I do keep my phone on me at all times. So i'd like to see at least a couple of days worth on standby.

According to Apple, the iPhone gets: * Up to 8 hours Talk Time * Up to 250 hours Standby * Up to 6 hours Internet Use * Up to 7 hours Video Playback * Up to 24 hours Audio playback Variables like updating email, leaving bluetooth on, etc will obviously affect these results, but on the plus side, some reports have the battery life exceeding the apple results slightly. I feel confident that, if all I did was use the phone, I could get a couple days of life out of it. However, if that's all I did, I'd be a fool for spending $500 on a phone. |

That's pretty good, probably a bit more than what I get with my current phone. I suspect the audio and video playback won't live up to those specs though.

It probably will if that's ALL your doing; check out the link at the top of this thread, where the footnotes detail their testing methods. -a |

I do not understand why people have a hard time with charging the phone. I have always been in the habit of plugging the phone in when not in use. You only have to let it go dead the first time only before you charge the first time. I have no problem with that time as you can get car chargers and home chargers both. |
