Websites and the iPhone

Can you tell me, why some sites work with my iPhone while other sites do not? I am not sure why this is happening and wanted to know if anyone has the answer or experienced the same problem.

If it's a primarily flash based site, then that would be a problem. Any sites in particular (perhaps post a link)?
