Please connect to iTunes???

I have a 1.0.2 jail broken phone I brought in Egypt thats where I am based It was unlocked when I brought it so I do not know how it was jail broken. Not sure what happened but the phone seems to have turned in to a brick !
It displays the message Please connect to iTunes but if I do this I am screwed but then again I seem to be screwed any way.
When I connect to Itunes I get the message that the phone is in recovery mode ;.(

Any advice pls help
